The value creation opportunity
As a global leader in agricultural equipment and precision ag innovation, AGCO Corporation operates an extensive manufacturing footprint across Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States. Through flagship brands such as Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Valtra, AGCO empowers farmers with intelligent, future-ready solutions. With sustainability at the core of its strategy, AGCO has pledged to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 55% by 2033 and drive a 90% reduction by 2050—redefining the future of responsible farming.
AGCO Corporation stands as a global powerhouse in the design, production, and distribution of advanced agricultural machinery and precision farming technologies. With manufacturing operations spanning Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States, the company delivers cutting-edge solutions through its respected brands including Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Valtra.
“The future of climate action depends heavily on transforming agriculture,” Batkin explains. “Our commitment is to equip farmers with smart, low-carbon solutions that not only enhance productivity but also accelerate the transition toward sustainable farming worldwide.”
The transformation strategy
To accelerate its decarbonization journey and overcome fragmented data challenges, Catalyst Zero collaborated with Amazon Web Services (AWS), AGCO’s trusted cloud partner. Working alongside Consora, the team implemented Catalyst Zero’s advanced Marginal Abatement Cost Curve (MACC) capability—purpose-built to manage complex, inconsistent, and unstructured emissions data at scale.
Powered by machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics, the platform dramatically cuts the time and cost required to develop or refresh MACCs—by up to 90%. It seamlessly processes more than 300,000 emissions data points across multiple ERP systems, significantly minimizing manual intervention while enhancing accuracy and speed.
The transformation impact
AGCO’s integration of Catalyst Zero is not only improving the precision of its emissions baselining and decarbonization analytics—it’s also accelerating the entire process. Tasks that previously required eight weeks are now completed in just one, delivering faster, data-driven insights that directly inform strategic action. Beyond boosting operational efficiency and sustainability reporting, the platform is enhancing decision-making across the enterprise.
By providing a clear view of decarbonization opportunities across business units and regions, AGCO is able to pursue its climate objectives more cost-effectively. Early analysis indicates the potential for a 10% reduction in costs associated with achieving its emissions targets. The partnership with Consora and Amazon Web Services further strengthens AGCO’s sustainability capabilities through targeted training for key teams, including purchasing, product engineering, and IT. Simultaneously, AGCO is advancing high-impact initiatives such as electrifying its tractor lineup and deploying technology-driven solutions to minimize Scope 3 emissions across its supply chain.
